Why Should I Participate in Green Waste Recycling?

Your help can dramatically reduce the burden on our landfills.

Turns grass and shrub clippings, plants and sawdust into nutrient-rich compost for use in your landscape projects.

In the Coachella Valley, Green Waste makes up about 33% of the trash that goes into our landfills.

If you have a gardener, check to make sure that your clippings are being recycled.

What About Cactus?

Cactus can only be recycled if it is in a paper bag. The top of the bag should be closed so that it completely covers the cactus. Otherwise, cactus should be disposed of with your regular trash. It may be placed inside your regular 32 gallon trash container or you may set it out in the bag. Be sure you watch the weight of each container, and remember each bag or can does count as 1 container. Cactus in boxes or open bags will not be collected. If you have a large volume of cactus please contact our office. We may be able to schedule a special pick up. (subject to additional fees)

Large quantities of green waste can be transported to:

California Bio Mass
Ave. 62 at Jackson Street, Thermal

So Cal Recycling

GREEN WASTE TIPS
Cut up trimmings to increase the amount of yard waste that fits in the can.

Place a sheet of newspaper in the bottom of the can to keep grass from sticking.
